Welcome

"Bringing children and books together!"

Established for over 40 years, the Federation's main role is to act as an umbrella organisation for the local autonomous Children's Book Groups around the U.K. The Groups organise a variety of book-related activities for children in their localities, often in conjunction with their local schools and libraries, including bringing authors and illustrators to meetings and storytelling sessions. The Federation produces a regular Newsletter and numerous specialist booklists. Also, we organise National Share-a-Story Month each year in May, we hold an Annual Conference in the Spring, and we own and coordinate the Red House Children's Book Award.
