A Silent Auction of jam-packed autograph book to raise funds for FCBG

Over the past year we’ve been collecting autographs from authors and illustrators for children and young people in a lovely autograph book. The autograph book is now full and we are hosting a silent auction of it this weekend to raise funds for the Federation of Children’s Book Groups.

The autograph book contains signatures from the following authors and illustrators:

The autograph book will be on view at our annual conference in Worth this coming weekend. Whilst we can’t post images of the signatures online, you can see some of the doodles and drawings to be found in the autograph book below.

The Silent Auction is now open and you can submit your bids to me via email, zoe.toft@kuvik.net (until 9am on Friday 11 April – I can’t guarantee I’ll have email access after that), or in person (using a sealed envelope) at the stall dedicated to the silent auction at our annual conference.

The auction runs until 8am on Sunday 13th April. The winner will be announced at the coffee break at 11 am on April 13th. If the winner of the autograph book is at conference they will need to settle their bid at conference (by cheque or cash, or online via our our secure online giving page). If the winner is someone who has submitted via email, I will contact them by Sunday evening, and they will have until Wednesday 16th April 2014 to settle their bid by making a donation equivalent to their bid plus postage costs via our secure online giving page.

Terms and Conditions.
Anyone may bid on this autograph book. All bids (at conference or via email) must be accompanied by your name and contact details (phone or email).

If the winning bid is made by someone present at the FCBG conference, April 2014, they must settle their bid at conference and will receive the autograph book at conference.

If the winning bid is made be someone not present at the FCBG conference, they will have until Wednesday 16th April (6pm UK time) to settle their bid, using our online donation system. Their donation will equal the level of their winning bid plus secure postage of the autograph book (see details below).

Cost of posting autograph book securely within the UK: £7.15 (Special Delivery Next Day, Guaranteed by 1:00pm next day, tracked and insured up to £500)

Cost of posting autograph book securely within continental Europe: £11.20 (International Tracked and Signed, Delivery aim 5 days, if winning bid is under £250) or £42.30 (Global Express, guaranteed delivery within 3 days, if winning bid is between £250 and £500)

Cost of posting autograph book securely worldwide: £52.61 (Global prority, Delivery from 3 days, insured for up to £250) or £61.61 (if winning bid is between £250 and £500)

If the winning bid is over £500 the cost of additional postal insurance will be met by the FCBG.

If the winning bid is made by someone not present at the FCBG conference and they have not settled their bid by midday Wednesday 16th April, the next highest bidder will be contacted and they will have until Midday Saturday 19th April to settle their bid in return for the autograph book.

The autograph book is full of gems and would make the most amazing gift – to yourself, or to someone you know who loves children’s literature! Good luck bidding 🙂
