Faber and Faber are looking for young filmmakers aged 13 – 18 years old to enter a script or storyboard for a book trailer about The Fury by Alexander Gordon Smith.
The competition is open for entries until 10 January 2013 (making this a great project for the Christmas holidays). By entering you get the chance to win a flip camera and £500 Apple vouchers. You can enter individually or as a group at www.facebook.com/stayfurious.
10 January 2013 – Enter your storyboard or script for the book trailer inspired by THE FURY. There are templates on the Facebook page as a guide and all you need to do is write the script and possibly sketch out pictures of the scenes you are imagining. There is a free extract from the book and character descriptions to get you started. You can enter on your own or you could share the prizes and enter as a group. If you have any queries just email the firstname.lastname@example.org or ask on the Facebook page. The author, Alexander Gordon Smith, has written film scripts himself so will be very happy to offer advice.
17 January 2013 – Faber and Faber will select five entries for the shortlist and provide each of them with a flip camera so the scripts can be turned into films.
21 March 2013 – The five shortlisted films need to be sent to Faber and Faber so the winner can be decided.
4 April 2013 – The overall winner will be announced and presented with £500 Apple vouchers. Faber and Faber will then use the film to promote the upcoming publication of the sequel, THE STORM, which is out in May 2013.
Now all you have to do is get writing your scripts. Good luck!
