Independent publisher Old Barn Books teams up with bloggers YA Fictionados to launch the first #YAtakeover spin-off

Saturday 26th November will see the first spin-off #YAtakeover to focus
specifically on Australian YA fiction.

Founded by book blogger Chris Moore, the #YAtakeover is now a familiar
fixture in the bookish calendar: a weekend takeover of Twitter including
YA panel discussions, quizzes, giveaways and video interviews. Authors,
bloggers, readers, journalists and book trade influencers all take part
in this online festival conceived of as a celebration of Young Adult
books.

For Old Barn Books Publisher Ruth Huddleston, the #YAtakeover
collaboration is a chance to celebrate their recent publication The
Stars at Oktober Bend by Australian author Glenda Millard (longlisted
for both the UKLA Book Award and nominated for the Carnegie Medal), as
well as embracing Australian YA, regardless of publisher:

‘Having recently published the phenomenal The Stars at Oktober Bend, we
were looking for ways to connect with existing fans of Australian YA to
share our love for Glenda, but also to celebrate the many diverse voices
coming out of the Australian market. The online YA community is hugely
supportive and the YAtakeover is the perfect partner for a
collaboration’.

The Takeover will launch with a UK/Australia publisher panel with Old
Barn Books and Allen & Unwin Australia, and will close with exclusive
video interviews from Glenda Millard and Krystal Sutherland, debut
Australian author of Our Chemical Hearts, from Hot Key Books.
